Coastal Mornings–Corolla, NC

Spent the last week in Corolla, North Carolina. I thankfully missed the early nor’easter that tore through the area less than two weeks earlier, but the damage it did was apparent.

Several months ago I set the goal of spending a lot of time along the Potomac River during the summer, but my mom’s failing health from the ravages of dementia kept me preoccupied and traveling back and forth to Dallas, Texas. She passed in September the age of 92. She left a plan for her funeral that included a poem by Margaret Meade titled, Remember Me. The poem tells readers to cherish memories–good and bad–and see this person when you stand upon a shore. So, these photos are me spending time with my mom and family, missing her, loving her.
