The Final Days of Summer 2016

I hate to see summer come to an end, but I can hear and feel the approach of fall each morning  as I head out early to get photographs.  The subtle changes are already in motion. Here are a few shots from around our region in the last couple of weeks.

I’m more of a summer person and it’s a lot easier to drag myself out with the warmer air, but I am looking forward to the colors of fall and fewer bug bites!

Spectacular Summer Sunrise at the Washington Monument

_PAW4984_5_6_7_8_tonemappedHere’s proof that the early bird photographer gets the worm.

These two shots of the Washington Monument were taken only minutes apart, but the results demonstrate the difference between good and spectacular lighting.  I just needed to be there to capture the drama.  Thanks, Mother Nature!

If you’ve ever wondered why photographers are out so early, I can’t give you a better example of how a few minutes can make a huge difference.  The low angle sunlight reflecting off the thin layer of clouds really adds to the depth and impact of the top photo.

Hope you enjoy it.

Business Benefits of an Inbound Marketing Strategy Via Video, Blogging and Social Media.

Pawpro Media Video

The benefits of inbound marketing via blogs, social media, content publishing, and search engine optimization grows stronger with each passing year, and statistics now show it surpassing outbound marketing both in effectiveness and cost per lead.   A recent survey of 644 companies entitled, The State of Inbound Marketing, shows a shift in marketing budgets away from the conventional outbound tactics of direct mailings, phone solicitations, and print marketing.
Instead, companies are opting for marketing sources that bring in customers who are actively looking for information about their products online.  The Internet has become the vehicle of choice and convenience driven by consumers searching for products and services through blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  And, all of these approaches utilize multimedia to increase organic search results and pull-in active consumers.

This survey distributed by HubSpot showed that the more companies directed their efforts towards inbound marketing, the greater the reward in the form of more leads at a lower cost per lead.  Specifically the data showed that outbound marketing efforts cost $373 per lead, while inbound marketing efforts cost $143 per lead.  In a struggling economy this is a price differential which has not gone unnoticed by businesses.  In the survey, most companies said they plan to expand their use of inbound marketing in 2011 because of past successes in this arena.  In fact, 27% of these companies consider blogging, social media usage critical to their businesses, and 85% dubbed these mediums either “useful”, “important”, or “critical”.

Pawpro Media produces high quality, creative videos that motivate and cause consumers to respond.  Video is a critical and cost-effective element in an inbound marketing strategy.

Pawpro’s Newest Online Video Release

Pawpro's Next Level Fitness Video

Pawpro Media released its latest production, a promotional video for Next Level Fitness and Health, LLC.  This is a great example of how video can be used to promote, inform, and inspire online.  It’s also a great example of the high quality and creative services Pawpro offers.  Whether it’s linked in e-mail blasts or embedded on your Website,  one video can be used over a substantial period of time without added cost, and more and more the Internet is where ALL searches begin.  Video works.

What’s a tag?

Pawpro posts often mention tags.  A tag can take various forms, but essentially it’s a very quick video segment that can be used over a period of time at the start or end of a video profile, advertisement, or marketing presentation.  Think of it as a label in a shirt or a pair of pants, and every pair of pants you sell has your label sewn on.  Plain and simple a tag serves to help brand a service, an individual or business by making it familiar and giving the consumer something to remember.  It may be visually, verbally or musically memorable.

As an example, a tag can be as simple as a real estate agent saying, “I’m Bob Jones with ABC Realty and please give me a call if I can help you with your home purchase.” and this little segment is attached to every video home tour that Bob puts on the Web.  It makes Bob familiar to anyone who sees one of his video listings, they see his brokerage logo and it shows his contact information.  Bob’s not a stranger anymore, and he’s not just a name, phone number or still photograph on a Web page.

For a retail business, a tag may take the form of a memorable tag-line spoken over a shot of a storefront.  Or, maybe it’s just your logo animated with a tag-line.  It can be as simple as an on-camera thank you with telltale noise or jingle .  Pawpro can help you with ideas that fit your needs.

The most important element of a tag is its length.  Keep it short.  Under 10 seconds is my rule, and preferably under 5 seconds is best.

Go ahead, say it with video!

Video Home Tours and Online Media–Don’t Do It Yourself.

I could log-in to YouTube and in a few minutes give you a handful of examples why you shouldn’t produce your own videos, but I refuse to publicize bad work.  Like anything else, producing video that looks and sounds professional AND gets the desired point across isn’t as easy as it looks.  There is a right and wrong way to do it.  And, don’t be confused between a slide show with a bunch of stills edited together with music, and a true video.  When used properly video can provide the viewer with a much better perspective of a home, a business, a brand, a service.

See a Pawpro Video

Could you do it yourself?  My answer is take a short look around at the videos that are self-produced and compare them with a Pawpro video.  You’ll find bad audio, bad camera moves, repetitious shots, and slap shot editing.  The difference should be obvious.  Pawpro’s work sounds better and looks better, and the viewer isn’t distracted by the poor production quality.  Plus, you’ll notice the extra custom touches such as logos, character generation, and clear voiceovers that not only look sharp, but leave no doubt about the brand or product being sold.  Few companies, would consider starting their own newspaper or magazine so that they could get cheaper advertisement space, so why try to produce your own television commercials?

Not to mention, in attempting to produce your own video, you’re most likely taking away valuable time from some other aspect of your business.  This is especially true for real estate brokers considering whether to produce their own video home tours.  The hours spent shooting a video and editing would best be spent looking for your next client, or serving the clients already under contract.

Video and Online Marketing for Real Estate

Real estate brokers and brokerage firms are steadily starting to switch from the traditional forms of marketing such as print and newspaper to the Internet, blogs and multimedia.  Why?  For good reason, some 27.7 billion online searches are launched each month in the U.S. alone, according to the book, “Marketing in the Age of Google™.” Those numbers are expected to rise with each passing month and year as more and more consumers rely on the Internet to find products and services, and less and less on print options such as newspapers, phone books, and mailers which end up in trash cans or recycling bins never to be seen.

A smartly produced video showcasing a home for sale not only serves your client now, but becomes a long-lasting marketing and branding tool for the broker, which can be linked endlessly, and viewed by past, present, and future clients as an example of the quality of work you do.

As for branding, what better way for your clients to get a sense of who you are than creating a one minute stylized and personalized video profile of yourself.  Again, it’s a onetime expense that can be viewed endlessly by potential clients in the convenience of their home.  It doesn’t cost you anything to send a link.  Can you say that about a mailer?

Brokers are also realizing that there is much greater value and longevity to dollars spent on electronic marketing than for the conventional print options.  Although it’s uncharted and intimidating territory for many, it is the way the real estate industry is surely moving as far as marketing is concerned.

Consider letting Pawpro produce a video profile or a reuseable tag for a home tour for you.
